We founded Adult Autism Assessments because we recognised the barriers many adults face in getting timely professional support on their path to acknowledging their own autistic traits.

Long NHS waiting lists and a lack of specialist individual support often leave people feeling confused and overwhelmed.

We're founded by experienced GPs who have supported countless patients on this journey. And as people with lived experience of neurodivergence in our own families and communities, we also know how vital the right approach is. Our mission is to offer a positive, respectful, efficient, and evidence-based pathway - without the long wait.

Dr Nick Bennett is a GP, former surgeon, and co-founder of Adult Autism Assessments, where he leads on diagnostic practice with a proactive, neuroaffirmative approach, drawing on a diverse clinical background.

Dr Bennett is committed to addressing the systemic gaps neurodivergent individuals face - offering compassionate, evidence-based autism assessments designed around the individual.

Karen Cowan is a highly experienced adult autism assessor with over 30 years of expertise in neurodevelopmental support.

Known for her compassionate, neuroaffirmative approach, she has worked extensively with autistic adults, especially those navigating late diagnosis.

Karen has delivered impactful training on autism and neurodiversity to large organisations - from NHS hospital teams to Apple Store staff and schools.

Jaillan Yehia is a career communications strategist and as co-founder of Adult Autism Assessments, leads patient experience, company ethos, and all aspects of branding and communication.

With a wide-ranging background in healthcare comms as well as time in travel, events and hospitality communications, she has a passion for making complex processes feel human, warm, and accessible.

Jaillan strives to ensure that every touchpoint in the patient journey is clear, welcoming, and easy to navigate.

Ross is a healthcare leader and strategic advisor with over 15 years of senior experience in clinical service delivery and governance.

He brings deep expertise in healthcare systems and operational transformation, and supports the team’s mission to provide an accessible adult autism assessments service for our patients.

He serves as a non-executive director and board advisor to several UK-based healthcare companies, including digital health start-ups.

He is also the Treasurer of the International Faculty of Remote and Rural Healthcare at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
